West Highland Way, Day 6 - Inveroran Hotel to Kinlochleven - 16 miles

These came nosing around the bank of the hotel yesterday afternoon

Rannoch Moor

A bit of rain today, but probably didn’t need all the waterproof clothing

Stob Dearg, Glen Coe.  Snapped this just before a van drove past on the A82.  After talking it I saw the van was West Highland Way baggage transfer, probably carrying my bags.  What are the chances of that? Shame I missed it.

Starting the climb, out of Glen Coe, up the Devil’s Staircase

View of Glen Coe from the top, the highest point reached on the WHW - 548 metres

  1. Oh cruel is the snow that sweeps Glencoe
And covers the grave o' Donald....
They came through the blizzard, we offered them heat
A roof ower their heads, dry shoes for their feet
We wined them and dined them, they ate o' our meat
And slept in the house O' MacDonald...

Hope you're having an amazing time ...onwards to Fort William!

  2. That is such a great picture of you! Whilst there have been no cow pictures so far there seem to have been plenty of animals with horns. I realise what a scaredy cat I am about animals! I love the sense in your photos of the wildness of it all xx
